Current Obsession

Any handbag lovers out there? I mean those who REALLY love their handbags? Enough to bring them out and lovingly display them? Maybe even change your handbag a few times in one day in order to wear them all? I'm that person. I realize it's a bit of a problem, and my 401K can attest to that. I've had few friends that can actually relate to this obsession of mine, and I can't really blame them. I got my first Louis Vuitton handbag when I was 20 years old with my first major commission check, and never looked back. Although my tastes have changed and I'm not much for logos/monograms anymore, I cannot resist a beautifully designed bag. This Alexander Wang Rocco has been my latest obsession. So much so, that I've purchased several.  I'm not sure what it is.....the rose gold, the shape, or the simplicity...either way, it mixes glamour with edge and I seem to gravitate towards that look. Isn't she gorgeous? (Rosie Huntington-Whitley isn't so bad, either!) Do you have a favorite handbag designer?

The Lady Has Style

Have you ever seen someone who's style just seems to captivate you? Someone who always looks so pulled together without looking like she's trying too hard? Effortless style is something so few people have and when they nail it, the fashion gods sing. Emmanuelle Alt, the Editor-in-Chief of French Vogue, is just such a woman in my opinion. Effortless, never fussy and always with the right mix of casual tomboy with a just hint of girly touches. Too much feminine frill has never been my style, as I'm more of a tee shirt and jeans kind of girl. A great statement bag or cuff is all you need. Of course fabulous shoes never hurt either!  Who inspires your fashion style?

Harvest Decor

I've never been one to get overly excited about the holidays--especially since pushing Christmas  merch in August and September is a huge turnoff for me and makes me want to boycott the entire season. However, I have an 11 year old daughter to think of and must do my part to make pleasant memories for her. (Shhhh...I can't let my internal Grinch out!) My solution is to find a way to mix elements of the season into a simple and elegant arrangement. Carving tiny pumpkins with tea lights and my favorite Jonathan Adler pottery makes my tiny living quarters look inviting.  What are your favorite ways to celebrate and/or decorate for Thanksgiving season? 

A New Season

October has always been a month of great change for me. Marriage, divorce, moving, career changes etc., all seem to land in the month of October. Today has been a day of serious contemplation and a real sense of wanting something more. The crisp air and beautiful colors outside have prompted me to create this blog, but it's been a long time coming. I'm not exactly sure why I've felt the need to create one, as I'm a naturally shy and private person.... I'm going through major changes in my life and for some reason felt the need to express myself through thoughts, pictures and new ideas. So what am I hoping to get out of this, you ask? I'm hoping to connect with like-minded individuals who may share their thoughts and inspirations with me. To be honest, I have no idea the exact direction I want this blog to go. I love fashion, inspiring stories of triumph, a good book, spirituality, coffee, thoughtful humor, a clean car, and tri-tip.
